Laughter, Faith, and Healing: A Successful Sobriety & Faith Clean Comedy Explosion

Saturday, September 13th, 2025, Flint came alive with joy, hope, and laughter as we gathered for the 2nd Annual Celebrating Sobriety & Faith Clean Comedy Explosion Fundraiser at the Family First Event Center. What an unforgettable evening it was!

A Night to Remember

With doors opening at 4:30 PM, families, friends, and supporters filled the room with energy and excitement. Hosted by the incredible RJ Leery, the event blended comedy, music, and faith-based encouragement into one powerful experience.

The stage came alive with talented performers including:

  • 🎤 Lisa T. Pirtle (aka Train) bringing powerful Christian sobriety poetry.

  • 🎶 Darius Givens & Persistence delivering inspirational rap with a message of resilience.

  • 😂 Shea Butter, JeCorey Hawkins, and Donald Martin lighting up the stage with clean, uplifting comedy.

  • 💪 Special highlights from Detroit’s own Josiah “Weightball” Stlusson, bringing motivation and inspiration.

Together, they reminded us all that recovery is not only possible but can be filled with joy, laughter, and faith.

More Than Entertainment

Beyond the laughter, this was a night about healing, support, and community connection. Vendors and impactful resource tables were present, ensuring guests had access to services and organizations that can help them on their journey of sobriety and faith.

By combining entertainment with purpose, the event created a safe, uplifting space where people could celebrate progress, find encouragement, and walk away with tools for the future.

Thank You, Flint!

This event would not have been possible without the leadership of Men Motivating Men Worldwide, the generosity of Genesee Health System (GHS), and the dedication of every performer, vendor, and volunteer who poured their energy into making the night a success. Most importantly, we thank each attendee who showed up to celebrate faith, sobriety, and community.

Looking Ahead

The success of the Sobriety & Faith Clean Comedy Explosion reminds us why we do this work: to build stronger, healthier communities rooted in love, resilience, and faith. Stay tuned for next year’s event—it will be even bigger and better!

💚 Together, we are proving that healing can be joyful, recovery can be celebrated, and laughter truly is good for the soul.
